Twelve on - twelve off watch days are treated as 1.5 days for
the computation of sea time. If a 3rd A/E on a tanker works 4 on
- 8 off, those days are counted as one for one. At the end of 60
days, he or she has 60 days seatime. But if an engineer on a
tug works 12 on - 12 off, those days are multiplied by a factor of
1.5. Therefore 60 days of service counts as 90 days seatime.
