These four visa categories are as follows:

EB-1 Visa - Priority Workers: EB1 Visas are for immigrants who possess extraordinary ability in the sciences,
arts, education, business or athletics. This also includes recognized artists and musicians, professional
athletes, distinguished professors, researchers, managers and executives.

EB-2 Visa - Professionals with Advanced Degrees or Persons with Exceptional Ability: EB2 Visas are for
candidates with exceptional ability in the sciences, arts or business. EB2 Visas also cover advanced degree
professionals and qualified alien physicians who practice medicine in an underserviced area of the United
States.

EB-3 Visa - Skilled or Professional Workers - EB3 visas are for foreign national professionals who hold
bachelor degrees. This includes skilled workers with a minimum of two years training and experience. It also
includes foreign national unskilled workers.

EB-4 Visa - Special Immigrants - EB4 visas are for religious workers such as missionaries, priests and
religious instructors.

An employers who wants to apply for a someone to work in the United States on a permanent basis should file
a Form I-140, which is called a Petition for Alien Worker.
